Artists: Ward Smith
The artist was born in Ottawa, Kansas in 1958. A musician and poet as well as an artist, Ward Smith received a Master's degree in art from Northern Illinois University in 1985 and he teaches art and painting to both children and adults. He has participated in numerous art exhibitions in the midwest, and also performs music and multi-media presentations in connection with his art.
"Inherent in the artist's profession is the challenge to effectively describe his or her time. When this is accomplished, the work itself reveals a transcendent vision beyond an ego-centered perspective. My art is a composite of all that excited and inspired me in the art I have seen."
