Henri-Robert Bresil was born in Gonaives, Haiti, September 19, 1952 and died in 1999.
Bresil settled in Port-au-Prince in 1973 and painted his first works, beginning a career as a world-renowned painter. After receiving the Ispan-Unesco prize in 1981, he exhibited in all the major galleries in Haiti, and abroad in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Japan, France, Italy, and Switzerland.
As a landscape painter, Bresil is much appreciated by art lovers and collectors, and his work has been praised in the New York Times, Miami Herald, and Hostess Magazine, among other publications.
