Artists: Armelin Delinois
Armelin Delinois was born in Les Cayes, a Haitian port city, May 24, 1958. His father was a farmer. Delinois has little formal education - he attended only two years of school. At the age of 18, he moved to Port-au-Prince and worked as a mechanic and a truck driver, and at the same time, he painted continuously.
A client in his garage, who owned an art gallery in Washington, D.C., saw some of his paintings, and began to show them in the US. Since then, Delinois' art has been shown in many exhibitions, including at the Organization of American States in Washington. He continues to paint and run his garage. He has seven children.
