Artists: Michel Valestin
Born in Port-au-Prince in March, 1962, Michel Valestin is an artist originally groomed by the Issa Gallery in Port-au-Prince. His early work showed exceptional talent, depicting seascapes and marine scenes.
His later paintings more than fulfill this promise, as he experimented with new colors and new subject matter. His paintings are particularly popular among European galleries and collectors, though his talent and versatility are now recognized by hundreds of American collectors of Haitian art. This is an exceptional third-generation Haitian artist, whose work we expect to continue to evolve. Whether an experienced collector with "old masters" in his portfolio and looking for something new, or just someone collecting inexpensive Haitian art both for esthetic and investment reasons, Valestin should be perhaps among the first choices.
